Before you start Have the approved customer name, contact details, billing and delivery addresses, tax treatment, credit terms, and pricing agreement.
Steps 1. Open Customers or CRM and search for an existing customer by name, email, telephone number, or tax identifier. 2. Create a customer only when a matching active record does not exist. 3. Enter the legal or trading name, contacts, billing and shipping addresses, payment terms, tax treatment, and currency. 4. Add approved price list, credit, account-manager, or lifecycle details when they apply. 5. Save the record and confirm it is ready for the intended quote, order, invoice, or POS activity.
Check your work The customer record is unique, uses the correct billing and delivery details, and does not contain another customer's contact information.
When to stop and ask for help Stop if the customer requests a credit override, tax exemption, legal-name change, or account merge without authorization.
