Perform a stock count or adjustment

Before you start Know the count location, item scope, count date, reason for any adjustment, and required approver.

Steps 1. Open the stock count or adjustment workspace and select the correct warehouse, bin, and count scope. 2. Count the physical stock without changing the system quantity during the count unless your process directs otherwise. 3. Enter the counted quantity or adjustment with a clear reason, supporting evidence, and the correct effective date. 4. Review the variance and submit it for approval when your controls require it. 5. After approval, review the resulting stock movement and valuation impact.

Check your work The final system quantity matches the approved count result and the reason is traceable for audit.

When to stop and ask for help Stop if the variance is large, the item is serialized or controlled, or the count conflicts with an in-progress transfer or receipt.
