Create and post a journal entry

Step-by-step Eprecus guidance for create and post a journal entry.

Who this guide is for Bookkeepers, accountants, and CPAs preparing an approved accounting adjustment.

Before you start Have the business reason, supporting documents, accounting period, accounts, tax treatment, currency, and approval authority.

Steps 1. Open Finance, then Journals, and select the command to create a journal entry. 2. Choose the correct open period, journal date, currency, and reference that identifies the supporting record. 3. Add debit and credit lines with clear descriptions, tax treatment, and dimensions or cost centers when required. 4. Confirm that total debits equal total credits, then save the draft for review. 5. Submit, approve, and post the journal only through the authorization steps assigned to your role.

Check your work The journal is balanced, posted to the intended period, and traceable to its supporting evidence.

When to stop and ask for help Stop if the period is closed, the entry is not balanced, or you are unsure about the account, tax, or effective date.
