Before you start Have the supplier invoice, supplier record, purchase order or receipt where applicable, due date, tax details, and approval evidence.
Steps 1. Open Accounts Payable and choose the command to create a bill. 2. Select the supplier and enter the invoice number, invoice date, due date, currency, and reference exactly as shown on the invoice. 3. Add the expense or item lines, quantities, tax, and account coding. Attach the invoice if your process requires it. 4. Compare the bill with the purchase order and receipt when a three-way match applies, then save the draft. 5. Submit the bill for approval and resolve any match or validation exception before it is approved for payment.
Check your work The supplier, invoice number, amount, tax, account coding, and due date agree with the approved source document.
When to stop and ask for help Stop if the invoice appears duplicated, the supplier is not verified, or the bill does not match the approved purchase or receipt.
