Before you start Know the leave policy, employee balance, staffing impact, and whether the request is paid or unpaid.
Steps 1. Open Leave Management and filter requests by pending status, employee, or requested dates. 2. Open the request and review the leave type, start and end dates, balance, attachments, and approval route. 3. Approve the request when it meets policy, or reject it with a plain explanation of what the employee can change. 4. Confirm the final status and notify the employee through the normal workflow. 5. For approved leave that affects an open payroll, run payroll validation or preview to confirm the expected pay treatment.
Check your work The leave calendar and balance reflect the final decision and no overlapping leave has been created.
When to stop and ask for help Stop if the balance is disputed, the leave is retroactive, the dates cross payroll periods, or the request requires a policy exception.
